LOS GATOS, CA (December 8) — A San Francisco Bay Area off-road club teams up with a national motorcycle-oriented business to protect off highway vehicle (OHV) recreation with a generous donation of $7,200 dollars to the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC).

The president of the Timekeepers Motorcycle Club (TMC), Bill Zakareckis, presented the BRC with a $3,600 dollar check at the club's monthly meeting held in Los Gatos, California. That dollar amount was matched by the gang at CYCLE GEAR (CG) via their in-house CG/BRC Trail Access Fund grant program. Each year, CG has $10,000 that they will use to match club or individual donations to the BRC.

TMC has a long history of working to protect the sport of off-road motorcycling including, but not limited to, trail riding, enduro competition, and cross-country racing. Their donation is directed to the BRC's legal effort to champion and protect responsible OHV recreation at the Bureau of Land Management's Clear Creek Management Area.

Don Amador, western representative for the BlueRibbon Coalition, said, "It was an honor to receive this generous donation in person from the Timekeepers Motorcycle Club. They have worked hard to raise these funds and it is truly appreciated and will be used in a wise manner to preserve and protect responsible OHV recreation at Clear Creek."

"I also enjoyed being able to update the club on BRC's various land-use and/or legal efforts that directly benefit the Timekeepers Motorcycle Club. The topics covered included the Clinton/Gore Roadless Initiative lawsuit, Sierra Nevada Framework, Eldorado National Forest lawsuit, Norton v. SUWA Supreme Court Decision, California OHV Program, helping individual riders become an 'Army of One,' Forest Service proposed national OHV rule, regional Forest Service route inventory process, and the Boxer Wilderness plan," Amador stated.

"The funding partnership on this project between CYCLE GEAR and TMC is a sterling example of how business and users can work together to promote and protect the sport of OHV recreation. I want to thank the CEO of CG, Dave Bertram, for bringing his championship skills and dedication to the land use battle. Just recently, the California Enduro Riders Association also took advantage of CG's Trail Access Fund with their donation directed at Clear Creek, a heartfelt thanks to them as well," Amador concludes.
