BRC and Legal Partners Object to Court Ordered Interim Closures

OAKLEY, CA (April 5, 2012) -- BlueRibbon Coalition Western Representative, Don Amador, has put together some links to provide greater detail on the court order threatening closures in Eldorado National Forest.

Below are links to documents related to the ongoing Eldorado Lawsuit, including the March 28, 2012 response from California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs, California Enduro Riders Association, American Motorcyclist Association District 36, and BlueRibbon Coalition--opposing the Forest Service's proposed order re: Case No. 2:09-CV-02523-LKK-JFM DEFENDANT-INTERVENORS' RESPONSE TO DEFENDANTS' PROPOSED ORDER.

"Until the court answers our response to the proposed order," said Don Amador, "the named routes are still closed by the seasonal closure. We expect their answer shortly."

"As you can see from these pleadings," Amador continued, "the aforementioned intervenors are the last line of defense against the immediate closure of the routes in question."

RENO, NV (May 6, 2015) -- The awesome folks at Lockett Shows (Al and Shirley Lockett, and crew) raised $6,621 to support the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) in its efforts to protect and preserve recreation access. The funds were raised through Silent Auction at the Reno Expo 2015 in Nevada. The Reno Expo is held every year at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and is produced by Lockett Shows. Not just one show, but four great shows, all in one location.

BOISE, ID (April 21, 2015)--A federal court has accepted the settlement agreement that resolves a lawsuit claiming that the Clearwater National Forest illegally closed recommended wilderness areas (RWA) to motorized use. The agreement, between the Forest Service and lawyers for the Idaho State Snowmobile Association and BlueRibbon Coalition, requires the agency to conduct a new analysis and issue a new decision to evaluate "motorized and over snow access management" in the areas.

Bipartisan Bill Introduced To Reopen Clear Creek For Off-Highway Vehicles

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 17, 2015) -- The BlueRibbon Coalition, a national trail-based recreation group, applauds Congressman Sam Farr (D-Salinas) and Congressman David Valadao (R-Coalinga), and Congressman Jeff Denham (R- Modesto)  for reintroducing the Clear Creek National Recreation Area and Conservation Act of 2015 (H.R. 1838).  The bill would reopen the 75,000 acre Clear Creek Management Area to OHV recreation and other multiple-uses. In addition, the proposal would designate about 21,000 acres nearby as the Joaquin Rocks Wilderness.
