BLUERIBBON COALITION ACTION ALERT!

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

Plumas National Forest Release Travel Management DEIS

The Plumas National Forest, located in northeastern California, has announced the release of their Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Motorized Travel Management. The 45-day comment period for the DEIS will end on February 11, 2009. The purpose of the comment period is to give the public an opportunity to provide early and meaningful participation on the proposed action prior to the project decision being made.

The DEIS, along with Alternative Maps, is available on the Plumas National Forest website at: http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/plumas/projects_and_plans/ohv_route_designation/

The Forest Service (FS) will host a series of open houses in January (see schedule below for dates and places). Team members will be available to familiarize people with the route designation and environmental analysis processes and will provide assistance if you want to provide comments during the open houses. These meetings are designed to help clarify the project, receive your input, as well as to allow you the opportunity to ask questions and get further information.
