NEW MEXICO - Cibola NF Hosting Collaborative Work Sessions for Forest Plan Revision

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

The Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands is moving forward in revising its Forest Plan for the Sandia, Mountainair, Magdalena and Mt. Taylor Ranger Districts. The Forest released the draft Cibola Forest Assessment Report in April, and just finished a series of public meetings  to review, discuss and accept comments and input regarding the report.

The Cibola's next step is to host a series of collaborative work sessions to identify the areas of the 1985 Forest Plan that need to be changed. These work sessions will begin on June 9, 2014 and will provide an opportunity for the public to work with the Forest staff and others with diverse interests to discuss, with increasing detail, what needs to change to ensure sustainability while providing multiple uses.

The Public Collaborative Working Sessions are schedule to start on June 9, 2014. Please see the schedule -- at the link below -- for meeting dates, times and locations. Anyone who wishes to participate in these sessions, but needs assistance with verbal translation or accessibility, should call 505.346.3889 as soon as possible to make arrangements.
