ARIZONA - ATTENTION OFF ROADERS IN THE QUARTZSITE AREA - YOUR HELP NEEDED

Dear BRC Alert Subscriber,

BRC just received an email from Shirley Leeson, President of the American Lands Access Association (ALAA), with an urgent request regarding their upcoming January meeting in Quartzsite, Arizona.

We've pasted Shirley's email below. Please take a minute to read the alert, take action and then pass it along to friends, family and riding buddies.

7pm,    Quartzsite Alliance Church   720 Desert View

If you enjoy spending time in Quartzsite during the winter months, and you ride your ATV or off road vehicle during that time, then you must attend the ALAA meeting.

The NEPA plan for La Posa is already in progress. It has been commented on, and now the results of those decisions are coming. If you didn't have a chance to see the maps and comment, you will learn about them here.

We will have John MacDonald, Field Manager, BLM, Yuma, AZ with us to speak to this issue.

In addition, we will have a staff member, Penny Pew, from Congressman Gosar's office (R. 4th District, AZ) in attendance.

We urge you to attend and bring a friend.

Rockhounds & Off road enthusiasts must step up and attend or all is lost.

2nd Annual Quartzsite Clean-up

We did such a good job last year, the BLM has invited us back. BLM Ranger Bill Alexander will be with us to haul all the trash away.

We'll meet east of Quartzsite on I-10 at the Gold Nugget Road Exit. 8am to 11am.

Bring:

* heavy gloves, sensible shoes, hat and long sleeved shirt.

Tools:

* lawn rakes, broom stick with nail , 'grabbers" like the ones you use to reach for things on high shelves.....be creative.

The BLM and ALAA will provide Trash Bags

Sawtooth National Recreation Area Wants Your Input on the Wood River Travel Plan
The Sawtooth National Recreation Area (NRA) is announcing the availability of the proposed action for the Big Wood Travel Management Plan. The purpose of this plan is to bring road and trail use into compliance with the Forest Plan, laws, and regulations; to provide a system of roads and trails for public access and recreational travel; to manage resource impacts that are occurring due to the use of roads and trails; and to rehabilitate non-system routes identified as a problem

CALIFORNIA - Public Invited to Rasor Off-Highway Vehicle Area Tour and Comment
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Barstow Field Office, has scheduled three tour rides of the Rasor Road Off-Highway Vehicle Area OHV area to identify locations used for riding, camping, as well as to assess use habits and general conditions of the area. The California Desert Conservation Area (CDCA) Plan of 1980 mandated a recreation plan to address the intensive OHV activity of the Rasor Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area. Public Comment Period on BLM Little Rockies Travel Management Plan Extended
The Bureau of Land Management Malta Field Office is seeking public input about the Little Rockies Travel Management Plan. The BLM is looking for input on motorized vehicle, off-highway vehicle, snowmobile and non-motorized transportation uses on public lands in the Little Rockies Travel Management Planning Area of Phillips County. The 30-day scoping period which began on April 5, 2016, has been extended until July 6, 2016.
