NORTH CAROLINA - FS Announce Last Forest Plan Revision Open House of the Year

Greetings BRC Action Alert Subscribers,

Don't forget to mark your calendar for the last open house this year for the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests management plan revision process.

The open house will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on December 17, 2013, at the Nantahala District Office. The office is located at 90 Sloan Road, Franklin, NC 28734. There will not be any formal presentations so attendees can arrive at any time and stay however long they choose.

At the open house, attendees will have the opportunity to submit written ideas for how the 1987 management plan needs to be changed. Forest Service specialists will be on-hand to assist, answer questions and listen to concerns. Sample "Need-for-Change" statements were shared with the public in September and are available online at: http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/nfsnc/nprevision.

Thanks in advance and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact BRC.
