NORTH DAKOTA- BLM Draft N.D. Sage Grouse Plan Amendment Released

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

The Bureau of Land Management has released the Draft North Dakota Greater Sage-Grouse Resource Management Plan Amendment and Draft Environmental Impact Statement for a 90-day public comment period.

The document considers four possible management alternatives for maintaining and increasing habitat for Greater Sage-Grouse on BLM-administered lands in southwestern North Dakota. Approximately 33,030 acres of North Dakota's Greater Sage-Grouse habitat is on BLM-administered surface lands, and another 396,053 acres of federal mineral estate in the North Dakota Field Office.

The BLM will issue the Record of Decision by Sept. 30, 2014.

On October 22, 2013, a public open house will be held in Bowman, N.D. to answer questions on the document. The event will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Bowman City Hall located at 101 First Street N.E.
