THIS IS A SPECIAL BRC "PACK THE HOUSE" ALERT  Just a reminder about the Joint Oversight Field Hearing being held on "Logs in the Road: Eliminating Federal Red Tape and Excessive Litigation to Create Healthy Forests, Jobs and Abundant Water and Power Supplies" this coming Monday, May 14, 2012, at 9:00 am at the Montrose Elks Civil Building in Montrose, Colorado. (See previous alert)  Gary Wilkinson of Handlebar Motorsports has been invited to testify, and BRC's own Public Lands guy, Brian Hawthorne, will be there as well. So we are asking for anyone that can attend to help us pack the house and show your support for responsible recreation and access

S. 486, Preserving Access to Cape Hatteras Beaches Act Put On Hold
Yesterday the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources postponed efforts to advance S. 486, Preserving Access to Cape Hatteras Beaches Act until the committee's June mark-up. This bill would overturn a National Park Service plan to limit motorized vehicle use at a North Carolina seashore. We've pasted Senator Burr of North Carolina's media release below. IDAHO-IDPR Seeks Recreation Enthusiasts To Fill Vacancies On Grant Advisory Comm
The following information was forwarded to us by the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) is accepting applications to fill vacancies on the following Grant Advisory Committees. Grant Advisory Committee's evaluate grant applications based on established criteria and make recommendations to the Idaho Park and Recreation Board for funding.
